Games Like Two Minute Drill: 8 Daily NFL and Sports Puzzle Games
Eight games like Two Minute Drill, compared honestly: the daily NFL play-calling games (this one, nfl2mindrill.com, two-minute-drill.com), Immaculate Grid, Puckdoku, Sporcle, Wordle and Retro Bowl.

If you like Two Minute Drill, you probably like one of two things: calling plays on a real NFL drive with the clock running, or the daily-puzzle habit of one shared challenge a day and a score to compare. The eight games below cover both. The first three are two-minute drill play-calling games, including ours. The rest are daily sports grids, trivia and the word game that started the daily-puzzle format. For each one we say what it is, how it differs from Two Minute Drill Game, and where to play it.
How this list was made. Everything below about other games comes from their own public pages as we read them on October 24, 2026. We are not affiliated with any of them. If a game has changed since, its own site is the place to check. We run the first game on the list, so read that entry as the maker's description.
1. Two Minute Drill Game (this site)
Two Minute Drill Game is our free daily NFL play-calling game. Every day you take over a real 4th-quarter drive, with the real score, clock, field position and timeouts, and call every play from eight offensive calls or five defensive ones. Each call is graded on win chance, your Drill Score runs from 0 to 100, and at the end you see how the real coach's drive turned out, play by play.
How it differs from the other two play-calling games: the call list is short on purpose, you can coach either side of the same drive, and the results are drawn from real NFL plays. Beyond the daily drive there is unlimited Practice, a two-drive Full Game mode and Survivor. The scoring is explained in full in How to Play and the scoring guide.
2. NFL 2 Minute Drill (nfl2mindrill.com)
The game that made two-minute drill play-calling a daily habit. Its home page calls it "a free daily football game": one real NFL late-game drive a day, the same for everyone, with 27 calls across Run, Pass, RPO and Trick, each graded on win chance. Your day ends with a percentile against simulated NFL play-callers and a "Coached like" match to a real head coach. The About page says it is an independent, fan-made project built by a football fan, and does not name the developer. As of our check the same game is also served at 2mindrills.com.
How it differs: many more calls per snap (27 against our 8), a percentile score instead of a 0 to 100 Drill Score, and a Survivor mode of random real fourth quarters, back to back, as its extra-drives option. We wrote a separate guide to its grades, the 100% score and Coached like.

3. 2 Min Drill (two-minute-drill.com)
Another independent two-minute drill game. Its home page describes "a daily football strategy game" where you take over a real NFL game in its final minutes and call runs, passes, clock management and fourth-down decisions, with one real scenario a day that is the same for everyone. It also has an unlimited practice mode with "no daily limit, no signup", and says both are free with no account. Like ours, it builds its scenarios from the open nflverse play data and is not affiliated with the NFL.
How it differs: the daily scenario plus unlimited practice split is the same shape as ours, so the differences are in the details of the calls and the grading. Its pages describe offensive play-calling only; defense is not mentioned.

4. Immaculate Grid
The daily sports trivia grid from Sports Reference. You get a 3 by 3 grid where each row and column is a team or a career fact, and nine guesses to name a player who fits both. There are separate daily grids for baseball, men's and women's basketball, football, hockey and soccer. The football grid is the one to pick if you want NFL knowledge tested every day.
How it differs: trivia, not play-calling. Nothing about the clock or the score; it is about how many players you know. It is free and keeps the one-grid-a-day rhythm.

5. Puckdoku
The hockey version of the grid idea. Puckdoku's page says its classic grids are "available every day", you get nine shots, and the site is not affiliated with the NHL. It is free, with an optional ad-free tier through Patreon.
How it differs: a different sport and trivia rather than strategy, but the same daily grid habit as Immaculate Grid, and a good pick if your group chat has hockey fans in it.

6. Sporcle
A trivia site that has been running since 2007, with "unlimited quizzes and puzzle games" on every subject, including a large sports section with NFL quizzes such as its changing-logos series. It has a daily set of featured quizzes, but you can play as many as you like. Free, with a paid option to remove ads.
How it differs: unlimited rather than daily, and trivia rather than decisions. Good for a football trivia binge rather than a two-minute check-in.

7. Wordle
The word game that made the daily-puzzle format a habit for millions. One five-letter word a day, six guesses, colored squares you can share without spoiling the answer. It has been owned by The New York Times since 2022 and is free to play.
How it differs: nothing to do with football. It is on this list because the shared-grid share card and the one-a-day rhythm that two-minute drill games use come from Wordle.

8. Retro Bowl
A pixel-art American football management game from New Star Games, whose site lists it on iOS through Apple Arcade, Android and Nintendo Switch. You build and run a team over seasons rather than calling one drive. The developer describes its games as "fun, simplicity, and surprising depth".
How it differs: a full game you install rather than a daily browser puzzle, and management rather than situational play-calling. If you want the whole season rather than the last two minutes, this is the one.

Which one to play
- You want the same game, done differently: play our daily drive, then NFL 2 Minute Drill and 2 Min Drill on the same day and compare how each grades the same kind of decision.
- You ran out of daily drives: Practice is unlimited, and Full Game gives you both sides of one real game.
- You want trivia, not decisions: Immaculate Grid's football grid for a daily hit, Sporcle for a long session.
- You want to understand the scores: our scoring guide covers the grades and the percentile in the original game as well as our Drill Score.
