Two Minute Drill Game
You're the offensive coordinator on a real NFL final drive. Same score, same clock, same timeouts. Call the plays and see if you can do better than the real coach.
How to play
- Read the situation: score, time left, field position, down and distance, timeouts.
- Pick a play: an inside or outside run, one of four pass calls, a spike to stop the clock, or a field goal when you are in range.
- Tick the timeout box if you want to stop the clock right after the play. The clock keeps running after a run or a catch in bounds.
- Keep calling plays until you score, turn it over or run out of time.
The full rules, including how the clock works, are in the how to play guide.
How each call is graded
Before every snap the game plays out the rest of the drive hundreds of times for each call you could make, and estimates your chance of winning the game. Your call is compared with the best one.
- Best call: Within 1 point of the best call
- Close: Gave up 1 to 4 points of win chance
- Costly: Gave up 4 to 10 points
- Big miss: Gave up more than 10 points
Your Drill Score is the average over all your calls, from 0 to 100. Scoring matters too: the end screen shows your final win chance next to how the real drive turned out.
Where the data comes from
Drives and plays come from the public nflverse play-by-play data for the 2023 season onward. It is refreshed every night, so drives from this week's games show up in the daily rotation. Field goal odds and the opponent's chance of answering after your drive are fitted from the same data.
